I graduated with First-Class Honours in Natural Sciences from University College London (UCL), one of the world’s leading universities. For the past six years, I have been completing my PhD in medicinal chemistry in Germany, while also teaching IB Chemistry at both Higher Level and Standard Level.
I understand that chemistry can sometimes feel difficult, overwhelming, or even boring when it is not explained clearly. However, I believe that with the right approach, relatable real-world examples, active discussion, and genuine enthusiasm, chemistry can become one of the most interesting and rewarding subjects to study.
Over the past six years, I have supported more than 40 IB students in successfully completing their Chemistry courses and examinations. My lessons are interactive, personalised, and focused not only on understanding difficult concepts, but also on developing the problem-solving and exam skills needed to achieve strong results.
I recently married my Vietnamese wife and relocated to Vietnam. I am excited to support students here and help them approach IB Chemistry with greater confidence and curiosity.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students understand chemistry deeply and think logically, rather than simply memorising facts, reactions, or mark-scheme answers. I break complex topics into clear, manageable steps and use real-world examples, visual explanations, and carefully selected questions to make difficult concepts easier to understand.
Each lesson is fully interactive and adapted to the student’s individual level, learning style, and goals. We usually begin with a short review of previous material, followed by a clear explanation of the new topic. The student then applies the concept through guided exercises, problem-solving tasks, and IB-style examination questions. I encourage students to explain their reasoning aloud, which allows me to identify misunderstandings quickly and correct them before they become long-term weaknesses.
My lessons are supportive and encouraging, but also structured and focused on measurable progress. Students learn how to analyse unfamiliar questions, connect different areas of the syllabus, avoid common examination mistakes, and communicate their answers in the way IB examiners expect.
With six years of experience teaching international IB Chemistry students at both Standard Level and Higher Level, I understand that every student faces different challenges. My aim is to build confidence, strengthen problem-solving skills, and help each student become an independent and successful chemistry learner.
