I was born in 2008 and recently completed my National High School Graduation Exam, scoring 9.5 in Literature — a strength that helps me explain Vietnamese clearly and effectively. I also hold an IELTS certificate of 6.0 and can communicate confidently in English, so working with foreign students, including complete beginners, is always smooth and free of language barriers.
As a young, energetic person who loves languages, I want to be your companion in learning Vietnamese in a natural, approachable, and practical way — not just to help you communicate, but also to help you understand Vietnamese culture and people. VIETNAMESE TUTOR FOR FOREIGNERS IN HANOI
Hello! I'm Minh, born in 2008.
I have just completed my National High School Graduation Exam with a score of 9.5 in Literature, and I am currently looking for foreign students who want to learn Vietnamese in the Hanoi area. I hold an IELTS certificate of 6.0 and can communicate confidently in English, which makes teaching — especially for beginners — easier and more effective.
1) Teaching Methods
I believe the most effective way to learn a language is by using it in real communication, rather than simply memorizing dry grammar rules. That's why I combine the following approaches:
Communicative Approach: Prioritizing speaking and reflexive response from the very first lesson, even with simple sentences.
Situational Learning: Building lessons around real-life situations — going to the market, ordering food, asking for directions, workplace communication, etc.
Bilingual Support (English–Vietnamese): Using English to explain difficult grammar points or concepts, helping students understand quickly and accurately while avoiding confusion.
Integrating Vietnamese Culture: Since the Vietnamese language is closely tied to culture, I always share insights about customs, forms of address, and idioms, so students gain a deeper understanding of not just the language, but also Vietnamese people.
Structure of a Typical Lesson (60–90 minutes)
Warm-up (5–10 minutes): Review vocabulary/grammar from the previous lesson through a short conversation.
Introducing New Content (15–20 minutes): New vocabulary, grammar, or communication topics, with concrete illustrative examples.
Practice (20–30 minutes): Practicing through dialogue, role-play, or speaking/writing exercises.
Real-World Application (10–15 minutes): Applying the lesson to real contexts (for example, if the student is in Hanoi, practicing phrases used when taking a taxi, going to the market, ordering food, etc.).
Wrap-up & Homework (5 minutes): Reviewing key points and assigning light homework to reinforce learning.
What Makes Me Different as a Teacher
Young, energetic, and approachable: As a recent high school graduate, I understand how to teach in a friendly, low-pressure way that suits beginners well.
Strong language foundation: My 9.5 score in Literature gives me the ability to explain Vietnamese grammar clearly and effectively — something not every native speaker can do well.
Confident English communication (IELTS 6.0): This helps students avoid getting "stuck" when they need to ask questions or receive explanations in English.
Flexible in time and location: Available to teach in person in Hanoi's inner districts, or online.

People living or working in Hanoi who need basic conversational Vietnamese (for markets, taxis, restaurants, offices).
